Super Lawyers is a rating service that is thorough in its vetting process. Lawyers are recognized in 70 practice areas and must have a very high level of peer reviews and professional recognition. This annual selection process uses a multi-phased process including nominations, peer reviews from lawyers practicing in same areas, and independent research. Only five percent of lawyers in the state receive this honor. The Rising Star attorneys must be age 40 years old or less and must have practiced law for less than ten years. The nominees go through the same rigorous process, and only 2.5 % of lawyers in the state are named as Rising Stars.
