McDONOUGH, GA — On Friday, WEATHINGTON Attorneys Heather C. McGrotty and J. Carter Weathington, assisted by Rebecca Dowd, RN, LNC, obtained a defense verdict after a week-long trial in the State Court of Henry County. Weathington attorneys were defending an Emergency Medicine physician in a medical malpractice and wrongful death case involving an alleged failure to timely diagnose and treat acute bacterial peritonitis resulting in the patient’s death several days later. The Plaintiff asked for a verdict in the range of $4.5 – $7.5 million. The jury returned a defense verdict in less than an hour.
